Character dining roundup, a new parade?!, and an app that helps with lightning lanes!

C - Castles and Characters

Character Dining Showdown

On our recent trip, we ate at Topolino’s Terrace and ‘Ohana for breakfast and Tusker House for lunch. Here are my thoughts and my favorite for this trip!

Topolino’s Terrace - located at the Riviera Resort, meet Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, and Donald, characters at breakfast only, prix-fixe meal. This meal is so so good! You start with a bucket of small pastries for everyone to share and then you choose your entree. I got the quiche and it is so fresh, creamy (in a good way), and delicious everytime. The character interactions were top notch and the terrace view after our meal? Amazing!

‘Ohana - located at the Polynesian Resort, meet Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch, characters at breakfast only, family style meal. You get standard breakfast foods here - fruit, waffles, biscuits, sausage, ham, potatoes, eggs, and a pineapple bread. This meal was just okay for me this trip! It was tasty, but the characters felt a little rushed and the restaurant itself is pretty dark. Overall a fun meal and the kids loved meeting Stitch!

Tusker House - located in Animal Kingdom, meet Mickey, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy, characters at all meals, buffet style meal. Okay, this was my absolute favorite this trip and I think it has inched Tusker House into the number 1 spot for my favorite character meal in all of Disney World! The food was delicious! Tons of African spices and flavors. We had this amazing rosemary naan with a sweet tomato dipping sauce and I’m still thinking about it. The character interactions were tons of fun. The fact that this character meal has delicious food for all 3 meals makes it the perfect place to eat!

H - Home Magic

Disney Magic through books!

The Little Golden books are such a fun way to add a little magic in the home! We love the books that are based off of the parks. They have Small World, Pirates, Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, and more! They also have a WDW book which my kids love to look through. These would be a great way to show them some of the things they may see throughout the parks!

🔗I have some books linked on my Amazon storefront if you’re looking for some!

A - Around the Parks

New Parade

There’s a new nighttime parade coming to Magic Kingdom! Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away debuts on July 20! This parade features tons of characters, lights, and I’m sure amazing music! It’ll take place on the normal MK parade route - starting in Frontierland and ending at the front of Main Street.

There’s been no showtimes released yet but it’ll likely be after dark. If you have toddlers and have a hard time staying out late, try planning a 2-4hr midday break back in your resort room and then head back to the parks around dinner time!

I am so looking forward to this! Can’t wait to see it!

Something else going on this summer is some amazing character experiences during Early Entry! On our recent trip, we saw a ton of characters out during EE and not only were they stopping for pictures but they were also interacting with each other which was so cute! Keep your eyes peeled if you’re going soon!

Standby Skipper

I used a new service this trip called Standby Skipper. It’s an app that will book your next lightning lane for you. You can pay per day or for the week ($45 for 7 days). So you book your initial 3 choices on your own and then on the day of use, you go into the app and select which LL you want to do next as well as a time frame (any time, 12-4pm, etc). The app will search for your desired time and book your party once it finds something! It was super helpful and got us some great times for lightning lanes without needing to search the app all day! We also were able to get a sold out Tiana’s LL! If you want to try it out, just make sure to download the app and set everything up before your trip!

That’s it for this week.

I hope you have a great Disney trip if you’re going before we CHAT again!
